Chris Marrero re-signed a minor-league contract with the Red Sox. Hard to believe that he’s only 27.
Speaking of big right-handed hitters, I expect the Nats to have a cattle call of them in the spring like they did LH bats in ’15. They’ll be looking to replace Uggla and perhaps T-Mo as well. They may be looking for some LH power bats as well, with the very limited power throughout the organization.
Insert obligatory reference to Billy Rowell here.
Reds fire sale is a big item to watch for us on this board. If Votto goes from Cincy elsewhere (wherever), Moore would be a good fit there as part of a Chapman package. Nats have lots of arms that would interest the Reds and with Baker, Speier, and Miller all in DC, it would follow that the teams match up every bit as predictably as do the Nats and A’s every year.
I expect Nats to be aggressive and to sign O’Day. That sets up more flexibility on the trade front and with their younger assets.
O day makes sense with the FOXy wife and her gig
Bruce might be a nice add.
