The Chiefs that can hit and pitch well at the same time were picked from the box of chocolates as they demolished the RedWings, 9-2. Paolo Espino gave up both Rochester runs on four hits and a walk while striking out six to win his seventh AAA game. Sammy Solis and Rafael Martin each put in an inning of work. Tyler Moore doubled and homered and drove in three while fellow 4A Scott Sizemore singled twice, tripled once and drove in two to lead Syracuse’s 15-hit attack.
Roster moves: OF Matt den Dekker recalled to Washington; 1B-OF Tyler Moore assigned for MLB rehab; LHP Bryan Harper promoted from Harrisburg.

Apparently, it was Canadian-rules football in Western Pennsylvania on Friday night as the Senators got two touchdowns to one rouge for the SeaWolves in a 14-1 demolition. Brian Rauh gave up the roug…er, run on a homer in the 5th and three hits total over seven innings for his second AA win. He walked one and struck out six. Reegie Corona was the beer man as the only Harrisburg starter not to march in the 18-hit parade, which was led by Adrian Sanchez and Brian Goodwin with three hits apiece.

The Red Sox put up two-spots in the 7th and 8th first two innings to snap a 1-1 0-0 tie and beat Potomac, 8-1. Matt Spann lost for the seventh time in twelve starts for the P-Nats, letting in four runs on three hits and three walks over four innings. Potomac spoiled the shutout bid with a run in the second as Stephen Perez walked, took third on Zach Wright’s double, and scored on David Masters’s sacrifice fly. The P-Nats collected five hits and four walks total and left on nine runners.

Lakewood 4 Hagerstown 1

Lakewood erased a 1-0 lead with a three-run 5th, then tacked on a fourth run in the 6th and cruised to a 4-1 win to take the series, 3-1. Erick Fedde went his allotted five innings, allowing the aforementioned three runs on three hits and two walks while fanning four. Andrew Cooper finished the game with one run over the final three frames on five hits without a walk or a whiff. Andrew Stevenson singled twice and walked once in four plate appearances. The rest of the lineup was 2-for-27 with a walk (D.K. Carey) and an RBI single (Matt Reistetter).

The Doubledays scored in each of the first three innings to take 4-0 lead but let five runs go answered to drop a 5-4 decision to the Spikes. Taylor Hearn started and turned in five innings of two-run ball on six hits and a walk while striking out two. Mick Van Vossen lost his NYPL debut with three runs allowed over two innings on three hits and two walks. Max Schrock tripled, homered, scored twice and drove in two to lead the Auburn offense.
