Syracuse barely avoided a third shutout in less than a week as they dropped a 3-1 decision to Lehigh Valley. A.J. Cole posted his fifth straight quality start, giving up two runs on six hits and two walks over six and 2/3rds innings, but lost his sixth AAA contest. The Chiefs got their lone run in the 5th on a walk and two stolen bases by Darin Mastroianni and a wild pitch. Kevin Keyes and Jose Lozada both singled to account for the two (2) Chiefs hits.

Harrisburg put up four in the 7th to take a 4-2 lead and held on for 4-3 win over Erie in the series finale. Lucas Giolito earned his third AA win with six-plus innings of two run ball with five strikeouts. The defense turned three double plays behind him (four overall) to offset the 10 hits and one walk allowed. Brian Goodwin doubled twice and drove in one with a sac fly while Christopher Bostick’s homered to pace the Senators offense.

The P-Nats took the lead with a run in the 8th and put the game away with two in the 9th as they split the four-game series with Salem with a 4-1 win. Tyler Mapes gave up the lone Red Sox run on eight hits and no walks over seven innings. He struck out three. Derek Self closed out the game with two scoreless innings for the save. David Masters singled once, doubled twice, and drove in two to lead Potomac’s attack.

Hagerstown couldn’t hold a 3-0 lead and tied the game twice before falling, 5-4. Justin Amlung started and went the first six innings, allowing four runs on nine hits and three walks while striking out three. David Napoli finished the game but took the loss, his fifth, with an 8th-inning run and two hits and two walks allowed total. D.K. Carey, Conor Keniry, and Raudy Read each had two hits while the rest of the lineup went hitless.
Roster move: IF Dan Uggla rehab assignment from Washington completed.

Three Auburn pitchers combined on a four-hit shutout of Williamsport, 4-0. Taylor Guilbeau got his second win with five innings pitched, three hits and no walks allowed and two strikeouts. Max Schrock and Dalton Dulin both went 3-for-4 as the Doubledays rapped out 12 hits total. Roster moves: RHPs John Feliz, Robbie Dickey, Joan Baez, Matthew DeRosier, IF Luis Vilorio, OF Telmito Agustin reassigned from GCL Nationals; RHP Cody Gunter assigned to GCL Nationals.
