GCL Update
The G-Nats won five of six games and now trail the GCL Mets by just one game in the GCL East, albeit with a 12-12 mark. Telmito Agustin leads the team with a .378 batting average and is now slugging a robust .622 in 14 games. Maximo Valerio, who turns 20 this week, has won three straight appearances, which earned him a mention in yesterday’s GBI.

DSL Update
Today is the DSL All-Star game, with the Nationals represented by two pitchers — Pedro Avila and Francys Peguero — and outfielder Juan Evangelista. A 2-3 week dropped the D-Nats to a 19-23 mark, which is 11 games off the pace of the Boca Chica North division-leading DSL Rangers1 at 30-12.

Robles to Auburn! Very exciting news. Have to think this means Stevenson to Hagerstown soon, if not already (but not announced). With Bautista starting to steal bases, hopefully he is in line to return to Potomac and resume his development without delay.

Very exciting time in the lower minors. Lots of OF-1B to keep an eye on, and with the Robles promotion, it means more regular playing time for Ramirez, Agustin, and Florentino. Florentino is repeating, so if he keeps this up, perhaps he is next in line, depending on how folks are faring one level up. Agustin has continued his advanced offensive skills and has been highly productive. But the remaking of the outfield options in A- and A+ is beginning this year, not next. And that is a great thing for the organization.

Since Stevenson didn’t play either end of the the double header, it would seem likely that he’s heading toward Hagerstown. He’s not in the lineup tonight (Sun.), though. I hope they push Kerian and Wiseman on sooner rather than later, too, with so few quality bats in the system. Fedde looks ready to advance as well.
