The Chiefs outhit the Iron Pigs, 8-4 but was outscored 3-2 in 11 innings for their third straight loss. Rafael Martin took the loss, giving up a leadoff single and two-out double in the 11th. Taylor Jordan started and let in two on two hits and two walks over five innings. Dan Butler singled twice and drove in a run to lead the Syracuse offense.

Harrisburg peppered Bowie’s pitchers for 12 hits but came away with just one (1) run in a 5-1 loss. Nick Pivetta labored through five innings, putting on 10 baserunners (five walks, five hits) but almost got away with it until Corban Joseph took him deep for a two-run HR in the 4th. He would suffer the loss, his second at AA. Two double plays, a play at the plate, and no walks drawn lowered the LOB number to just eight. Cutter Dykstra and Issac Ballou both went 3-for-4 to lead the Senators attack.

Suns pitchers retired Gnat OF Joe Tuschak five times in six trips to the plate. The problem? The other eight guys racked up 16 runs on 18 hits and eight walks as Savannah torched Hagerstown, 16-5. Drew Van Orden didn’t make it out of the 1st, giving up four runs (two earned) on three hits and a walk while striking out one in 2/3rds of an inning as he lost his third straight start. Hagerstown collected 11 hits themselves, with Osvaldo Abreu, Bryan Mejia, Raudy Read, and David Masters each connecting for two hits.

Auburn rallied for three in the 6th to snap a 2-2 tie en route to a 5-3 victory over Lowell. Matthew Crownover started and went four and 2/3rds innings, allowing two runs on seven hits with no walks and two K’s. Cody Gunter got his first professional win as a pitcher with two and 1/3rd scoreless innings with one hit and four whiffs. Kelvin Gutierrez singled once and doubled twice to lead the Doubledays’ 10-hit parade.
