Four Syracuse pitchers combined on a four-hit shutout of Gwinnett by a 2-0 score. Joe Ross went the first five, letting up two hits, no walks, and striking out three. Matt Grace and Rafael Martin both earned holds while Jose Valverde struck out two in the 9th for his ninth save. Trea Turner singled twice while Kevin Keyes doubled and walked to lead the Chiefs six-hit, three-walk offense.

The Senators scored three times in the 11th to break a 1-1 deadlock and defeat the BaySox, 4-1. Richard Bleier started and threw seven innings of one-run ball, giving up five hits, two walks, and striking out two. Sam Runion turned in two scoreless, as did Abel De Los Santos, who got the win, his fourth. Jose Lozada singled twice while Brian Goodwin singled and walked as Harrisburg was held to just nine hits over 11 innings.
Roster move: IF Adrian Sanchez placed on the 7-Day DL; IF Reegie Corona assigned from Washington (purchased from Long Island Ducks).

Myrtle Beach’s Jonathan Martinez outdueled Austen Williams for a 1-0 victory over Potomac. Williams allowed the lone, unearned run on three hits and a walk while striking out three over five innings. Justin Thomas (3IP) and Tyler Mapes (1IP) combined for four scoreless innings to keep it close, but the offense was stifled — limited to just five hits, one of which came from rehabbing Jayson Werth. Drew Ward was the sole batter to reach base twice, singling in the 4th and doubling in the 7th.
Roster move: OF Jayson Werth assigned from Washington for MLB rehab.

Like the Chiefs, four Suns pitchers combined on a four-hit shutout last night, but the bats were busier for a 5-0 win over the Power. Connor Bach walked four but only gave up two hits over six innings for his third win. R.C. Orlan, Koda Glover, and Jake Walsh each put up a goose egg in the 7th, 8th, and 9th innings. Lineup bookends D.K. Carey and Austin Davidson combined for four hits and four RBI as Hagerstown scored five times on eight hits and three walks with just five men left on.
Roster move: C Jake Mayers placed on the 7-Day DL; OF Wilman Rodriguez activated from the 7-Day DL.

Mahoning Valley rallied for four in the 6th to take a 4-2 lead and held off Auburn for a 4-3 win. Jefry Rodriguez took the loss, charged with all four runs on eight hits and two walks while setting six down on strikes. The Doubledays could only answer with one in the 7th as Max Schrock led off with a triple and scored on a one-out groundout, then went in order in the 8th and 9th innings. Andrew Stevenson led the Auburn attack with a single, walk, and a stolen base. He also scored a run and drove in a run.
