The Chiefs’ modest three-game win streak came to an end with a 2-0 loss in 10 innings to the Knights. A.J. Cole tossed six shutout innings for the second time this season and was rewarded again with a no-decision. The 23-y.o. walked four, struck out four, hit a batter, and gave up three hits. Matt Grace followed with two scoreless innings, and Rafael Martin one before he was dinged for both Charlotte runs in the 10th. Dan Butler went 3-for-4, Jason Martinson went 2-for-5 with two doubles, but the rest of the lineup was 2-for-28 as Syracuse left on 10 runners and went 0-for-11 with RISP.
Roster move: LHP Rich Hill released.

While the clutch hit was AWOL in Syracuse, it was spotted in Binghamton as the Sens struck three times in the 8th with two out and once in the 9th to put away the B-Mets, 4-1. Veteran Richard Bleier got the win with seven innings of one-run ball with six hits allowed, no walks, and five K’s. Sam Runion got the save, his fourth, with two scoreless innings. Wilmer Difo drove in two with his 8th-inning single while Trea Turner followed with an RBI triple and was 3-for-4 overall to lead the Harrisburg hit column.

Potomac — ALL STAR BREAK
The second half begins with Potomac visiting 1st-half champion Wilmington for three in Delaware, the first of 12 meetings in the second half, thanks to this year’s sdrawkcab ssa schedule that will also see them play Frederick 12 times and both the Blue Rocks and Keys in back-to-back series.

Hagerstown — ALL STAR BREAK
The Suns also resume play on the road in Delmarva for a five-game series, the first of 52 games against Northern Division opponents and 14 against the Shorebirds.

The NYPL’s #2 offense racked up another eight runs as the Doubledays took the series finale against the Spikes, 8-3. McKenzie Mills started and let in a run on four hits and a walk. The win was credited to Jose Morales for a subpar two runs allowed on three hits and a walk over two innings. Auburn hitters struck out 12 times but also racked up 12 hits, with Diomedes Eusebio leading the way with a 3-for-5 night.

    I say Giolito gets 4 more starts in Potomac then on to AA.

      Rizzo doesn’t keep top guys at Syracuse for long… Something must be brewing on the big league roster.
