Play was halted with one out in the bottom of the third, shortly after A.J. Cole surrendered his fifth HR in seven AAA appearances. They’ll pick it back up today and finish the game along with a second seven-inning game for a de facto doubleheader.

Harrisburg got strong pitching from start to finish and reeled off their fourth straight victory, a 4-1 decision over Trenton. Richard Bleier won his fourth game with seven innings of one-run ball, allowing seven hits, no walks, and striking out three. Sammy Solis shook off his previous shellacking with two scoreless innings for his first professional save. Derrick Robinson and Drew Vettleson both went 2-for-3 with a double to lead the 10-hit Senator parade.

The BlueClaws put the game away with a five-run 7th as they eclipsed the Suns, 9-1. Jefry Rodriguez made it through five innings, coughing up four runs on four hits while walking two and striking out two. Connor Bach took the brunt of the beating, surrendering all five runs in the Lakewood 7th, including a grand slam. “Orange” Marmolejos-Diaz and Grant DeBruin both singled twice as Hagerstown totaled 10 hits but also stranded 10 baserunners.
Trea Turner Update
First, what everybody’s been wondering: According to San Antonio Missions broadcaster Mike Saeger, Turner will be joining the Harrisburg Senators today. If so, Turner’s final game was a 1-for-4 effort with a single and an RBI.
DSL Update
The D-Nats won just once this past week, a 7-0 decision over the D-Cards on Wednesday. As noted in yesterday’s GBI, 17-y.o. Omar Meregildo is putting up strong numbers early with 11 of his 14 hits coming for extra bases. Eighteen-year-old Pedro Avila struck out 10 in his second start and has 15 overall. Among the age-appropriate relievers, 19-y.o. Francys Peguero has allowed just two hits and no walks over three appearances totaling six and 2/3rds innings.
