Buffalo 8 Syracuse 6
• Cole (L, 0-4) 5IP, 8H, 5R, 5ER, BB, 2K, HR(GS)
• Grace 1IP, 0H, 0R, 0BB, 1K
• Burriss 3-5, 2R, 2B, RBI
• Keyes 3-5, R, 2B, RBI
• Mastroianni 2-5, R, HR, RBI

A.J. Cole’s inability to keep the ball in the yard continues to dog him as a third-inning grand slam proved too much for the Chiefs to overcome in an 8-6 loss to Buffalo. It was the 12th HR he’s given up in 59 innings this season between AAA, MLB, and Spring Training. Cole was charged with five runs total on eight hits and a walk as he lost for the fourth time. Emmanuel Burriss and Kevin Keyes both went 3-for-5 with a double to lead Syracuse’s 15-hit attack.
Roster move: RHP Taylor Hill recalled to Washington.

Altoona 4 Harrisburg 3 (10 inn.)
• Bleier 7&8531; IP, 11H, 2R, 2ER, 2BB, 4K, HR; 1-3
• Solis (L, 0-2) 1⅓ IP, 4H, 2R, 2ER, 2BB, 2K, 2HBP
• Turner 3-5, 2R, 2-2B, 2SB
• Pleffner 2-5, RBI
• Skole 1-3, 2BB

The thrill of a possible victory came in the top of the 10th when Shawn Pleffner’s RBI single plated Trea Turner for a 3-2 lead. The agony of yet another walkoff loss came in the bottom of the 10th when a double, a single, and an unintentional walk loaded the bases. A hit by pitch tied the game, another hit by pitch gave Altoona the win, Sammy Solis the loss, and Adam Frazier the Homer Simpson RBI. Starter Richard Bleier scattered 11 hits over seven innings of two-run ball for his eighth quality start. Trea Turner ran wild with two doubles, two steals, and two runs scored in a 3-for-5 game.

Potomac 4 Carolina 1 (6 inn.)
• Valdez 5⅔ IP, 4H, R, ER, BB, 6K
• Miller 1-1, R, 2B, BB, RBI

• Keller 2-3, 2R, BB, CS
• Abreu 2-2, 2R, 2B, HR, 2BB, 3RBI, SB
• Marmolejos-Diaz 2-4, 2B

A three-run 1st put Hagerstown in the driver’s seat early as they cruised to a 5-2 win over Delmarva. For the second time this month, Drew Van Orden turned in a quality start two days after a relief appearance, giving up both Shorebird runs on four hits and a walk for his fourth win. David Napoli closed it out with three scoreless innings for his third save. Osvaldo Abreu paced the Suns offense as he reached base four times with two walks, a double, and a home run and drove in three.

• Lora 2-4, 2R, 2B, 3B, 2RBI
• Reetz 1-2, 3R, 2BB

Robbie Dickey got the start and turned in three scoreless innings, though he put on four baserunners with two hits and two walks. Luis Torres got the win with five no-hit innings of relief.
