The Indians broke through for three in the 7th to turn a 2-1 nailbiter into a solid 5-1 win over the Chiefs. Taylor Hill went five innings in his no-decision, allowing one run on five hits and two walks while striking out four. The loss went Eric Fornataro, who was charged with the last four Indianapolis runs on three hits and a walk over one-plus innings. Syracuse avoided the shutout on Jason Martinson’s first-inning HR as they collected just three hits total.

Back-to-back RBI doubles in the 6th turned a 2-1 deficit into the eventual winning score of 3-2 for Harrisburg in the opener. Colin Bates started and went the first five, giving up a run on a homer and three hits total with one walk and five K’s. Sam Runion got the win despite giving up the go-ahead run in the top of the 6th. Sammy Solis set down the side in order in the 7th for the save, his second.

Newcomer Isaac Ballou’s RBI single in the 6th broke a 3-3 tie as the Sens completed the doubleheader sweep with a 4-3 win over Altoona. James Simmons started and gave up all three Altoona runs on six hits with no walks while striking out two. The win went to Abel De Los Santos, who held the Curve scoreless for two innings.

Potomac broke a 1-1 tie with two in the 6th and held on for 3-1 win over Carolina. Phillips Valdez got his second win with a quality start of one run on four hits over six innings. He walked none and struck out six. Wander Suero followed with two scoreless to earn the hold while Nick Lee closed out the 9th for his ninth save. Every P-Nats batter hit safely with Narciso Mesa and Spencer Kieboom both going 2-for-4.

Matt Reistetter’s two-out, three-run HR in the 9th forced extras where the Suns rallied again for three in the 12th to take this one, 11-8. The Suns trailed 5-1 and 8-3 before the two three-run rallies. Luis Reyes started but was knocked around for five runs on five hits and five walks over three and a 1/3rd innings. Jake Walsh got the win in relief while Kevin Perez worked around a one-out double in the 12th for the save. Jeff Gardner, Grant DeBruin, and Alec Keller each had three hits as the Suns piled up 16 in the comeback win.

Jakson Reetz and Ian Sagdal both went 2-for-2 to lead the Doubledays nine-hit offense.
