Too early for Auburn to be good, bad or interesting? 🙂

Here’s a way too early stat line for you: In 6 games with the GCL Nats, CF Victor Robles is batting .550/.609/1.000 with 2 HR and 3 SB. He turned 18 in May. He’s already ranked by many as a top 20 prospect within the organization, even before making his stateside debut, so he’s definitely one to watch.

Robles has EVERYBODY’S attention, since a minor league exec with the Nats called him a first round draft choice talent. He will not be long for the GCL if he keeps that run going.

The lack of spots in the minor leagues is already playing itself out. Rosario, the 1B, released with a .294 average. Aguero, also released, was one of the top hitters on the GCL Nats last year. Mancini was a 12th rd pick in 2014 and young, and did not fare badly. So they are cutting people who are decent performers. DiNatale, picked up off the scrap heap after an injury year, starts his pro career with a home run. Nice!

The big (interesting) is how well some of the complete unknown Dominican hurlers have fared in the early going in GCL. New names to watch to go along with the draft choices.

From Twitter: @BenBadler: Another home run and a stolen base today for Nationals CF Victor Robles in the GCL. That’s gonna happen a lot. Jump on the bandwagon now.

I can’t wait until he’s promoted to a local affiliate. It’s nice to have another stud position prospect to go along with Trea Turner, and the OF depth was thinning.
