The Iron Pigs wasted no time in finishing off the Chiefs in the completion of Monday night’s game, scoring one run in the top of the 10th off reliever Evan Meek on a single, sacrifice, and a two-out single by pinch-hitter Russ Canzler. Syracuse went in order in the bottom of the 10th on a flyout and two groundouts.

Syracuse rallied to tie the game with a four-run 4th, but lost the battle of the bullpens again as Lehigh Valley took the regularly scheduled game, 5-4. Taylor Hill was strafed for 11 hits over four innings and let in the first four runs by the Iron Pigs. Felipe Rivero gave up what would prove to be the gamewinner on a one-out double in the 7th to lose for the second time. Matt den Dekker and Cutter Dykstra both went 2-for-4 to lead the Chiefs offense, which totaled nine hits and five walks.

The B-Mets blistered the Sens ‘pen for four runs in the top of 7th, turning a 5-3 deficit into a 7-5 lead. Harrisburg got one back in the 9th and put the tying run on 3rd and the winning run on 2nd before shallow flyout and a strikeout stranded them for the eventual 7-6 loss. Paolo Espino allowed the first three Binghamton run on six hits and no walks and struck out five over six innings. The loss went to James Simmons, who failed to retire any of the three batters he faced to begin the 7th. Matt Skole homered twice and drove in three while Shawn Pleffner went 2-for-4 with a run scored to power the Harrisburg offense.

Potomac scratched out three runs to Carolina’s two for a 3-2 win in a sloppy, error-filled affair. Nick Pivetta went a season-long seven innings, allowing two runs on three hits. He walked none and struck out six while picking up his second win. Jake Johansen pitched out of a three-base error by Isaac Ballou (changed to a triple afterwards) in the 8th for the hold while Nick Lee got the final two outs in the 9th for the save. Stephen Perez and Isaac Ballou both went 1-for-3 with a walk as the P-Nats were held to just six hits total.

The Suns broke open a 3-1 game with a four-run 7th and cruised to a 7-2 win over Greensboro. The win was Hagerstown’s third straight and got them back to .500 for the first time since April 21. Jefry Rodriguez gave up just an unearned run on four hits over six innings for his first win and first quality start of 2015. Brett Mooneyham (2IP) and Sam Johns (1IP) closed it out. David Masters, Cody Dent, and Matt Reistetter each had a pair of singles as the Suns racked up 10 hits total.
