Indianapolis rallied for three in the 9th to send Syracuse to its seventh straight loss, 5-4. Evan Meek blew his first save and suffered his second loss while giving up three hits to turn a 3-2 lead into a 5-3 deficit. The Chiefs got one back in the 9th but left the tying run on second. Bruce Billings turned in a quality start, giving up two runs on six hits and two walks over six innings while striking out four. Matt den Dekker homered, scored twice, and drove in two while Kila Ka‘aihue singled and walked twice to lead the Syracuse six-hit, five-walk offense.

Joe Ross’s streak of quality starts was stopped at four in a 4-3 loss by Harrisburg. New Britain homered twice, accounting for three of their four runs, all of which were allowed by Ross over five and a 1/3rd inning. He struck out six, walked none, and gave up five hits total. Three Rock Cats errors made the score much closer than it should have been as the Senators blistered the ball for three (3) hits and one (1) walk, with Caleb Ramsey’s HR in the 3rd accounting for the only earned run Harrisburg scored on the night.

The Pelicans swooped on Jake Johansen for six runs in the middle innings en route to a 7-3 win vs. the P-Nats. Tyler Mapes got the spot start and went the first three innings, dinged for a HR in the 2nd and two hits total as he struck out three and walked none. Myrtle Beach batted around against Johansen in the 4th and got six of their seven hits against him, as he lost for the third time this season. Christopher Bostick homered for the second straight game against his former team and went 2-for-4 with a walk to lead the Potomac attack.

Hagerstown scored in four straight innings and collected a baker’s dozen of hits for the sole Nats farm win on Sunday, 5-2 over Lexingto. No curse of the GBI for Phillips Valdez who spun six innings of two-run ball on three hits and a pair of walks to tie Austen Williams for the team lead in wins with five. R.C. Orlan and Justin Amlung combined for three shutout innings of relief for the hold and save respectively. The Suns probably should have scored more than five times as they also drew six walks and were caught stealing three times, going 3-for-15 with RISP and stranding 10 baserunners.
