Rain postponed the opener of a four-game series between the Chiefs and Redwings. Weather permitting, they’ll shoot to make it up with a pair of seven-inning games this afternoon in Syracuse.

Play was stopped in the top of the 5th last night in Altoona with the Curve holding a 2-1 lead over the Senators. They’ll pick up where they left off tonight at 5 p.m. and play the full nine innings, then do a seven-inning game afterwards.

Nick Pivetta threw seven shutout innings while Spencer Kieboom smacked a two-run HR to power Potomac to a 3-1 win over Wilmington. The 22-y.o. Canadian walked two and let up just three hits while striking out five to earn his first win of the season. Dakota Bacus finished with a run over two innings to get the save, his second of 2015. Wilmer Difo doubled twice and stole a base to match Kieboom’s 2-for-4 mark in the boxscore.
Roster moves: RHP Manny Rodriguez placed on the 7-Day DL; RHP Tyler Mapes reassigned from Hagerstown.

A three-run 4th broke open a 2-0 game as the Suns took their third straight, 5-1 over Delmarva. Austen Williams spun six scoreless innings and struck out six while giving up just three hits and a walk to earn his second win. R.C. Orlan finished the game but lost the shutout bid in the 9th on leadoff triple and a groundout. Hagerstown notched eight hits total on offense with D.K. Carey leading the way at 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
Roster moves: LHP Brett Mooneyham activated from the 7-Day DL.
Trea Turner Update
Turner continues his hot hitting with another multi-hit game, going 2-for-4 with a double in a 4-3 Missions win.
Difo’s time in Potomac is going to be short lived if he keeps this up.
How about Turner tearing up AA now? He’ll be called up by the end of the year if this keeps up!
