The Chiefs scored four times with two out in the 6th to turn a 4-1 deficit into 5-4 win to stop a two-game slide and take the opener. Scott McGregor got the win despite allowing all four Redwings runs on nine hits and a walk over five innings, though he did strike out seven. Even Meek did not inherit the earth, nor did he allow the tying or go-ahead runs to score in the 6th as he got the last four outs for his second save. Kila Ka‘aihue reached base three times to lead the Syracuse attack.

Rochester scored in three of the first four innings and held off a late Syracuse charge to earn the doubleheader split with a 5-2 win. Bruce Billings let in all five runs on six hits and a walk while also hitting two batters to lose for the second time this season. Back-to-back walks to lead off the 7th led to both Chiefs runs, as Dan Butler connected on a sac fly and Jose Lozada stroked an RBI single to make the game look closer than it really was.

Harrisburg blew a 3-0 lead in the top of the 8th but got it back with a four-run response in the bottom of the 8th for a 7-4 win over Reading. Abel De Los Santos got the blown-save-win, spoiling seven innings of two-hit shutout ball spun by Joe Ross, who walked two an struck out eight. Pedro Severino (1-for-2) and Mario Lisson (1-for-1, PH) both connected for two-run singles while Brian Goodwin singled, doubled, and walked while scoring three runs to pace the Senators offense.

The Suns put up three in the 1st, one in the 3rd and two in the 6th but barely held on for 6-5 win, snapping a four-game losing streak. Jefry Rodriguez made his first start in nearly 11 months, tossing four shutout innings with one hit and two walks allowed while setting down four on strikes. Three relievers combined to give up five runs over five innings, with the win going to R.C. Orlan and the save going to Sam Johns. Alec Keller and Gavin DeBruin both notched three hits as the Hagerstown batters racked up 12 hits and drew four walks total.
