The Chiefs rallied from deficits of 4-0 and 7-4 to send this one to extras, but fell 8-7 in 10 innings to the RailRiders. A pair of errors in the 2nd rendered three of the four runs Scott McGregor gave up unearned, but he was done after 78 pitchers over four frames. Matt Grace was touched for a run on two hits in the 10th to take the loss. Kila Ka‘ahiue’s three-run blast in the bottom of the 8th tied it at 7-7 but Syracuse couldn’t convert either one-out single in the 9th and 10th innings into the game-winner or the tying run.

Harrisburg got 20 runners on base and got seven of them in, but it wasn’t enough as Binghamton rallied for three in the 9th to walk off, 8-7. Starter Sandy Alderson was stung for five runs (four earned) on eight hits and a walk over five and 2/3rds inning. The loss went to Paul Demny, who walked two with two out to load the bases before giving up a double to empty them. Tony Renda pushed his hitting streak to nine games with a pair of singles, while Delta Cleary Jr., Matt Skole, Pedro Severino, and Caleb Ramsey also connected for two hits.

Potomac continues to bedevil Lynchburg in the 9th inning, this time scoring nine runs to turn 7-4 deficit into a 13-7 stunner. Two Hillcats relievers walked four (twice with the bases loaded) and gave up six hits to the 14 batters that came up. Just one error aided the rally, which came with two outs and led to the final P-Nat tally (hey, that rhymes). Blake Schwartz started but was ineffective, allowing four runs, five hits, three walks, and a hit batsman over five innings. Manny Rodriguez was credited with the win but was worse, failing to retire the leadoff man in each of his three innings and giving up back-to-back homers in the 8th.

The BlueClaws pinched the Suns for four in the first and never trailed, tripling them up for a 9-3 win. Luis Reyes started and lost, going four and 2/3rds innings with eight runs (six earned) allowed on nine hits and two walks with two strikeouts. Three relievers combined for one run over the final four and a 1/3rd but the Hagerstown offense sputtered in the clutch (1-for-7 w/ RISP) and left on 10. Grant DeBruin singled three times in four at-bats to lead the hit column.
