Jimmy Yezzo Named Sally Lg. Player of The Week
Hagerstown Suns first baseman Jimmy Yezzo has been named the South Atlantic League’s Player of the Week for August 25th to September 1st.
The 22-y.o. smacked two doubles and three home runs during the week and scored six runs while driving in eight. Overall, Yezzo posted a line of .435/.458/.913 with one walk and just three strikeouts.
The New Jersey native was drafted in the 7th Round of the 2013 Draft out of the University of Delware. Yezzo finished the 2014 season with 126 hits, including 22 doubles, a triple, and 13 home runs — second-best on the Suns behind Sally League MVP Wilmer Difo (14) — while driving in 56 in 123 games played.
Some more hardware for the 2014 trophy case! Nice!
