Tyler Moore’s 8th-inning HR tied it and Sandy Leon’s 11th-inning big fly ended it as the Chiefs edged the Bisons, 5-4 and took a 2-1 series lead. Starter Zach Kroenke went the first four innings, allowing two runs on two hits and three walks while striking out two. The win went to Mike Gonzalez as he turned in 1-2-3 eleventh inning following two scoreless innings from Daniel Stange. Josh Johnson (3-for-4), Moore (3-for-5), and Leon combined for eight of the 11 Chiefs hits on the night.

Harrisburg dropped the opener of this four-game series with an agonizing four-walk inning in the 12th that led to the margin of victory in a 6-4 loss to Richmond. The Senators had leads of 2-0, 3-2, and 4-2 before Richmond tied it at 4-4 in the 6th against starter Brian Dupra, who was charged with four runs (two earned) on two hits and two walks while striking out three over five and 2/3rds innings. Derek Self took the loss with two runs on two hits over two innings, and all four walks issued in the 12th. Drew Vettleson led the Sens offense with a 3-for-5 night, followed by Ricky Hague’s 2-for-5 effort.

Former Nats farmhand Mike Burgess homered in the top of the 9th to spoil a comeback from a 9-0 deficit as the Keys edged the P-Nats, 10-9 to take the series, 2-1. Blake Schwartz was hammered for six runs on three hits and three walks as he retired just two of eight batters faced. Kylin Turnbull, just off the DL, wasn’t any more effective as Frederick riddled him for seven hits over two and 1/3rd innings. The P-Nats scored in five straight innings beginning in the 3rd, while Chris Manno stopped the bleeding with three scoreless, and Travis Henke added two more before Burgess led off the 9th with his 13th homer. Estarlin Martinez and Tony Renda both went 3-for-5 to lead Potomac’s 13-hit, seven-walk attack.

The Shorebirds put up three-spots in the 1st and 3rd innings to take a 6-0 lead and cruised to a 9-5 win for 2-2 series split. Spot starter Andrew Cooper was charged with the loss as Delmarva got to him for six runs on eight hits and a walk over four innings. Wander Suero turned in three scoreless and hitless innings before Creede Simpson left the band park and went solo in the 8th. The Suns notched nine hits for the night, with Spencer Kieboom leading the way with a single, double, and three RBI while going 2-for-4.

Austen Williams got the start and let in a run on two hits and a walks over two and 2/3rds innings. Luis Torres stranded a runner in the 3rd and allowed one run on five hits over the next four innings and was credited with the win. Maximo Valerio pitched a scoreless 8th for the hold while John Feliz shut the door in the 9th for the save. Luis Guzman singled twice and scored a run and was the sole G-Nat to have multiple hits as the offense was limited to four hits and four walks.

Nector Ramirez took the loss, issuing the deadly leadoff walk that led to a sacrifice and a two-out single for the game-winner. Starter Joan Baez went the first five and 2/3rds and let in two runs (one earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out four. Andres Franco and Luis Vilorio combined for five of the 11 D-Nats hits, as they drew just five walks but also struck out just seven times.
