Syracuse 7 Buffalo 0
• Laffey (W, 10-3) 7IP, 3H, 0R, BB, 3K
• Martin 2IP, 1H, 0R, BB, 0K
• Burriss 4-4, 3R, 2B, HR, BB, 2RBI, SB
• Kobernus 3-5, R, RBI, SB
• Hood 2-4, R, HR, 2RBI

Two Syracuse pitchers combined for a four-hit shutout out as the Chiefs blanked the Bisons, 7-0. Aaron Laffey won his I.L.-leading 10th game with seven scoreless innings, allowing three hits and a walk while striking out three. Rafael Martin finished up the team’s 12th whitewash (also I.L.-best) by spinning two innings with one hit and walk allowed. Emmanuel Burriss missed the cycle by the usual (triple) but scored three times and drove in two to lead the Chiefs 13-hit parade.
Roster moves: LHP Aaron Laffey activated from TIL, RHPs Taylor Hill, Blake Treinen optioned from Washington.

Akron 11 Harrisburg 2
• Brach (L, 1-3) 5IP, 8H, 3R, 3ER, BB, 2K
• Skole 1-3, 2BB
• Hague 1-3, BB, SB

Akron scored eight unanswered runs in their final two “ups” for an 11-2 win over Harrisburg and a split of the four-game series. Starter Brett Brach was knocked around for three in the 1st but recovered to post four zeroes to keep the Sens in the game. He would still lose as the firemen brought the gasoline instead of the water, as Scott McGregor and Brian Harper were torched for eight runs combined over the 7th and 8th innings. Despite drawing nine (9) walks, Harrisburg couldn’t take advantage as they struck out 11 times and hit into three double plays and mustered just four hits (all singles).

Frederick 1 Potomac 7
• Voth 7IP, 2H, R, ER, BB, 7K, HR
• Runion (W, 1-0) 1IP, 0H, 0R, 0BB, K
• Oduber 2-4, R, SB
• Norfork 2-4, R, 3B, RBI
• Perez 1-3, R, BB, RBI, SB

Potomac rallied for seven in the 8th, highlighted by Will Piwnica-Worms’s two-run homer that was last seen headed to Clifton for a 7-1 win over Frederick. Austin Voth gave up just two hits, but one was a solo HR for a tough-luck no-decision, as he struck out seven and walked just one. Randolph Oduber and Khayyan Norfork both went 2-for-4 with a run scored as the P-Nats notched nine hits total, six in the 8th. [Sorry folks, personal emergency – that’s why this is late.]

Hagerstown 6 Delmarva 5 (12 inn.)
• Silvestre (L, 3-6) 5⅓ IP, 10H, 4R, 4ER, 2BB, 7K
• Webb 2⅔ IP, 1H, 0R, 0BB, 1K, 2-1 IR-S
• Ballou 1-4, R, HR, 2RBI, SB
• Yezzo 1-4, R, HR, RBI

Hagerstown had difficulty scoring without the longball as they fell by one to Delmarva, 5-4 and ended a four-game win streak. Hector Silvestre took the loss — his sixth in seven starts — as he gave up four runs on 10 hits and two walks over five and a 1/3rd innings. He struck out a season-high of seven. Isaac Ballou and James Yezzo both smacked their 6th home run, combining for three of the four Suns runs, but a 1-for-11 with RISP and 13 strikeouts made it tough for the lineup to score otherwise.

Batavia 10 Auburn 8
• Bourque 2⅓ IP, 4H, 2R, 2ER, 2BB, 2K
• Fischer (L, 0-1) ⅔ IP, 2H, 4R, 4ER, 2BB, 0K
• Marmolejos-Diaz 4-5, R, 2B, 3B, 2RBI
• Davidson 2-3, 3RBI
• Langlois 2-4, 2B

Auburn built a 6-0 lead after three innings but gave it away as Batavia scored 10 runs over the next five innings. The Doubledays rallied for two in the 9th and got the tying runs to second and third with two outs before falling, 10-8. James Bourque was roughed up for two runs on four hits and two walks over two and a 1/3rd innings in his NYPL debut. The loss went to David Fischer as he was unable to retire any of the five batters he faced in the 5th after stranding three in the 4th with a double-play ball to end the inning. Jose “Orange” Marmolejos-Diaz fell a home run shy of the cycle as he went 4-for-5 with a double, a triple, and two RBI while Austin Davidson went 2-for-3 with 3RBI as Auburn pounded out 13 hits total.

GCL Nationals — OFF DAY
The G-Nats are tied for second place with a 4-4 mark after a 3-3 week. They’ll play four home games this week as they take on the Mets and Cards with road games on Tuesday and Friday.

DSL Nationals — OFF DAY
After a 4-2 week, the D-Nats are still in thick of the division race with a 15-10 mark, one game behind the Giants and Red Sox while tied with the Yankees1 squad in the Boca Chica South.

Hope the personal emergency turned out ok.

Other than Byler playing on the Cape, it’s been pretty silent on draft signings. Is anyone hearing any scuttlebutt?

I was in Woodbridge last night. Piwnica-Worms’s home run was longest I’ve ever seen hit there.

If I hadn’t seen it myself, I might disagree, but I was writing the line “last seen headed towards Clifton” when I had to pull the plug on LNIW…

times on the screws. liner to 1b robbed of RBI. liner up middle robbed by Shorebird leg,
Papa Harvey was in the crowd wearing his Disney era logoed cap.

Isn’t Robby Dickey signed? I thought I saw his name on the Kilgore post? If so has he been assigned?

I guess justin Bluxom got lost behind some
Numbers especially Walters but let’s hope he
Doesn’t find his groove on the braves bench in future .
Still think he could have been help,
The draft dollar numbers fell short for byler?
