Syracuse vs. Lehigh Valley — PPD

For the third time in four Aprils, the Syracuse Chiefs have racked up four postponements. The odds of a fifth look pretty good.
Roster moves: IF Josh Johnson activated from 7-Day DL, IF Sean Nicol reassigned to Harrisburg.

Harrisburg 4 Altoona 3 (10 inn.)
• Schwartz 5IP, 4H, R, ER, BB, 7K
• Herron (W, 1-0) 2IP, 2H, 0R, 0BB, 1K
• Taylor 3-5, R, 2B, RBI, CS
• Skole 2-5, 2B, 3RBI

Matt Skole’s two-run double in the 8th tied it and RBI single in the 10th won it as the Harrisburg Senators took back-to-back games for the first time this season. Tyler Herron got the win in relief with two goose eggs in the 9th and 10th innings. Starter Blake Schwartz shook off a first-inning run (the 21st allowed in 11 games by Harrisburg pitchers) to toss four scoreless and allow just four hits and one walk while striking out seven. Michael Taylor led the 13-hit Senator offense with a 3-for-5 night. Injury update: H/T again to Mick Reinhard of Mayflies & Big Flies who’s reporting that Drew Vettleson has a broken bone (not the hamate) in his left hand. Potomac 6 Carolina 5
• Rauh 5IP, 6H, 2R, 2ER, BB, 4K
• Benincasa (W, 1-0) 1IP, 1H, 0R, 0BB, 0K
• Norfork 2-4, R, 3B, HBP
• B. Miller 1-3, R, HR, 2RBI, 2BB
• Keyes 1-4, R, HR, 3RBI, BB

Khayyan Norfork scored from second on a grounder to short in the 9th as the P-Nats edged the Mudcats 6-5 to take the series 3-1 and close their first homestand with a 4-3 record. Kevin Keyes homered for the first time while Brandon Miller went deep for the fourth time in six games as the two combined for five RBI and three (3) walks. Brian Raugh got the start and gave up two runs on six hits and a walk while striking out four. Robert Benincasa got the win for pitching a scoreless 9th.

Delmarva 9 Hagerstown 2
• Pivetta (L, 2-1) 2⅓ IP, 5H, 5R, 5ER, 2BB, 0K
• Simms 4⅔ IP, 2H, R, ER, 0BB, 4K, 2-0 IR-S
• Difo 2-2, 2B, BB, SB
• Manuel 1-2, R, 2BB

Beginning with four in the 3rd, the Shorebirds scored eight unanswered runs as Delmarva defeated Hagerstown, 9-2. Nick Pivetta suffered his first loss of the season, giving up five runs on five hits and two walks over two and a 1/3rd innings. John Simms turned in four and 2/3rds of strong relief to keep the Suns within striking distance but the Shorebirds scored three against L.J. Hollins in the 8th to put the game away. Wilmer Difo walked, singled, doubled, and stole his eighth base to lead the Suns nine-hit, five-walk attack.
