Demotees Tyler Moore and Danny Espinosa combined for five hits and six RBIs while Drew Storen blew another save as Syracuse fell in extras, 7-6. Tanner Roark failed his bid for win #10, but turned in six innings with three runs allowed on eight hits and no walks. Storen gave up back-to-back singles to the first two batters he faced, then threw a sacrifice bunt away for an error and the first of two runs he would surrender, tying the game at 5-5. Moore doubled in the 8th to give the Chiefs a brief 6-5 lead and notch his 5th RBI. Mike Crotta gave up the tying run in the 8th and Erik Davis surrendered the gamewinner in the 10th for his sixth loss.

In matchup of E.L. division leaders, Binghamton got the best of Harrisburg for a 3-0 shutout. Taylor Hill took the loss, his fifth, despite a quality start of two runs on four hit and two walks over six innings. He struck out six, his best total to date at AA. Billy Burns laid down a bunt single with two outs in the 7th to extend his hit streak to 25 games, but it was one of just four Harrisburg would manage on the night.

Tied at 1-1 after 5½ innings, Potomac sent 15 men to the plate in the 6th and 10 of them circled the bases for an 11-1 rout and the seventh win in eight games. Eight of nine starters hit safely, including Brandon Miller going 2-for-4 with an RBI in his High-A debut. Brian Rauh had his night cut short by the outburst, as he faced just 19 batters in six innings pitched, with one run allowed on three hits, no walks, and one whiff. Adrian Nieto singled, doubled, and tripled, scored twice and drove in three to lead the Potomac offense.

Before a sitting-room-only crowd of 965, Hagerstown put three consecutive big innings to win an 11-7 slugfest vs. Kannapolis. Down 3-0 in the 5th, Estarlin Martinez homered to bring in two runs as the Suns tied it with a three-run rally. An inning later, they faced another deficit (6-3) but put up five in the 6th and three more in the 7th to put the game away. Every batter hit safely, four collected multiple hits, as the Suns notched 13 hits total. Starter Ian Dickson went five-plus innings, charged with five runs on eight hits with no walks and four K’s. Christian Meza got the win in relief, giving up a run on two hits over two innings.

The Renegades had it made until the Doubledays retrieved their bounty of five runs in the 8th to snap a four-game losing streak with a 5-2 win. Wilman Rodriguez’s three-run blast highlighted the Auburn 8th as the Doubledays were held to just five hits total. Starter Austin Voth gave up the first Hudson Valley run on four hits in his five innings of work. He walked none and struck out four. L.J. Hollins got the win in relief with three innings of one-run ball while Jake Joyce set ’em down in order in the 9th for his second save.

The G-Nats scored seven unanswered runs in the middle innings as they ran off their seventh straight win, a 9-3 decision over the G-Mets. Osvaldo Abreu had his way on offense, doubling twice, walking twice, scoring three times and stealing three bases as the G-Nats racked up 10 hits and drew seven walks. Travis Ott was charged with two runs on five hits and two walks but struck out five over three and a 1/3rd innings. Matt Derosier got the win (and the benefit of offense) as the first man out of the ‘pen.

The D-Nats pounded out five runs in the 1st and never trailed in an 18-8 thrashing of the D-Rojos. Maximo Valerio was one out short of a Jack Morris win, giving up six runs on 11 hits (two home runs) with no walks and two strikeouts over four and 2/3rds innings. 18-y.o. Fiteral Charlis got the win, tossing three scoreless frames to finish the game with one hit and three walks allowed, two wild pitches, and three strikeouts. Aldrem Corredor and Edwin Lora both went 4-for-6 with three runs scored, combining for seven RBI and five extra-base hits. Dionicio Rosario hit his team-leading fourth HR, a two-run shot in the 8th.
