Ohioan went six and 2/3rds innings, walking one, and striking out six while earning his sixth win. Mandel inherited two runners from Rosenbaum and retired all four batters he faced for hold no. 4. Jhonatan “The Onion” Solano peeled off another two-hit game, driving in two with a double to highlight a three-run 4th, while Danny Espinosa and Josh Johnson both went 1-for-3 with a walk.

The Sens ‘pen turned in four hitless innings to get Robbie Ray’s third AA win, 3-1 over Trenton. Richie Mirowski, Aaron Barrett, and Ryan Perry combined for six strikeouts and put on just one baserunner (HBP by Perry) to earn holds for Mirowski and Barrett and a save for Perry. Ray struck out eight and walked two, letting in an unearned run on five hits over five innings. Jerad Head, Justin Bloxom, and Carlos Rivero each had two hits, with Bloxom’s two-run single starting things off in the 3rd and Destin Hood’s RBI knock in the 4th driving in the third and final Harrisburg run.

Picking up where they left off on June 27, the P-Nats erased a 1-0 deficit with four runs in the 3rd and cruised behind the pitching of Sammy Solis for a 6-1 win. Solis, in relief of the since-traded Ivan Pineyro, tossed five scoreless innings, allowing three hits, no walks, and striking out five for his first win of 2013. Michael Taylor went 2-for-5 with a run scored on a three-run HR in the 3rd and 4RBI total as the P-Nats rapped out 10 hits total.

In three starts vs. Myrtle Beach, Schwartz is 3-0 with an ERA of 2.00, as he put up a line of one run over six-plus innings on six hits and a walk with six strikeouts. Billy Burns broke the 50-steal mark with two pilfers and extended his hit streak to 24 games with an RBI single in the 5th. Robert Benincasa stranded a runner and pitched a 1-2-3 ninth for his 11th save.

Brett Mooneyham won his third straight start as the Suns lapped the Intimidators, 4-1. The 23-y.o. southpaw gave up a run (solo HR) on four hits and one walk while setting down six on strikes. Derek Self nearly matched that total with five over the final two frames, notching his second save for Hagerstown. The Suns 2-3-4 batters combined for five of the team’s six hits on the night, with Tony Renda doubling and walking, Brandon Miller singling twice, and Mike McQuillan smacking an RBI triple to send in what proved to be the gamewinner in the 6th.

The Doubledays doubled their hit total from two to four, with Isaac Ballou reaching base twice with a single and a walk and Bryan Lippincott breaking up the shutout with an RBI double in the 1st.

Elliot Waterman got the win as the first man out of the ‘pen with one run allowed on four hits and a walk over three innings. Rafael Bautista missed the cycle but racked up eight total bases and drove in three with a 4-for-5 game to lead the G-Nats attack.
