Jeff Mandel lost a pitcher’s duel to former National Shawn Hill as the Chiefs were edged again by the Mud Hens, 2-1.
New Britain 8 Harrisburg 1

Sixteen of the 19 runs scored came in the final three innings as the P-Nats outlasted the Keys, 10-9.

The Suns rallied for two in the 7th to tie, then won it with a run in “extra” inning for a 3-2 win.

Hagerstown scored four in the 1st, three in the 2nd, and two in the 3rd and cruised to a 9-3 win, sweeping the doubleheader, and apparently keeping their slim playoff hopes alive, as the magic number remains at one, which means the Suns must win today and Hickory must lose to secure the first-half title. Roster moves: LHP Christian Meza reassigned from Auburn Doubledays; RHP Wander Suero reassigned to XST (reverses moves made yesterday); RHP Reynaldo Lopez reassigned from DSL Nationals.
DSL Orioles2 4 DSL Nationals 3

• 1-for-9 RISP, 8 LOB
Four errors were the undoing of the D-Nats, who blew a 3-0 lead over the D-Orioles2 in the 8th to lose, 4-3.
I got excited for our old friend Shawn Hill there for a minute, thinking, “Wow, he’s really going to make a comeback?” Then I saw that the victory raised his record to 1 – 8. The gotta give him credit for perseverance, at least.
+1/2St.
Sure is bittersweet to see careers come to
An end.
All the what ifs which went in other directions
Before Bud Inc. moved expos with their farm
Pipeline turned off to zero to DC with all the fruit
Shook off the tree. There was a greater chance in pigs
Flying than Selig allowing expos to move to DC
With vlad even if his arbitration year did not fall
As it did.
Nat nation truly has its fingers crossed on Purke
Ray and Solis getting healthy and moving up
To see which one could challenge for the vacated
Haren rotation slot !!
