Columbus built a 5-1 lead as they torched Chiefs starter Ross Ohlendorf for five runs on seven hits and a walk over five and 2/3rds innings. Syracuse rallied for four on six hits (all singles) in the bottom of the 7th, with Will Rhymes’s sac fly capping the rally. The foursome of Fernando Abad, Xavier Cedeno, Mike Crotta and Tanner Roark combined for eight and 1/3rd scoreless innings of relief with Roark getting win.
Roster move: OF Erik Komatsu placed on 7-Day DL.

Paul Demny’s turnaround continues with six innings of one-run ball in an 8-1 Harrisburg win over Richmond. The 23-y.o. Texan did walk four and gave up a run on four hits, including a home run but struck out seven for his third win. Fellow Texan Anthony Rendon continues to savage E.L. pitchers, going 3-for-5 for his 7th multihit game since his option back to AA. Brian Goodwin and Sandy Leon both homered and drove in two while LHPs Pat McCoy and Bill Bray combined for three scoreless innings to close out the game.
