Either one of the two big innings the RailRiders put up on the board would have been enough to send the Chiefs to their third straight loss, as Scranton/Wilkes Barre pounded Syracuse, 8-1. Ross Ohlendorf took the brunt of the beating, giving up seven runs on eight hits and two walks for his second straight loss. Micah Owings singled, doubled and scored a run but the Chiefs were held to just six hits total.
Zach Walters was back in the lineup after leaving Sunday’s game in the 7th. Chris Young is expected to make his season debut tonight, with a reliever most likely getting sent to the DL to make room.

Reading’s Jesse Biddle was perfect through six and a 1/3rd and struck out 16 of 24 batters faced, but nearly got the no-decision when Harrisburg rallied for two in the 8th and got the tying and winning runs on in the 9th. Alas, the Senators fell short of the comeback and fell, 3-2. Paul Demny took the loss, all three Fightin runs on five hits, including a two-run HR in the 4th. Ricky Hague doubled and scored a run while Brian Goodwin doubled and drove in a run to lead the late Harrisburg charge.

Potomac put all the pressure they could on Carolina ace Cody Anderson — stealing three bases, including third twice — but couldn’t break through as the Mudcats shut out the P-Nats, 3-0. Starter Taylor Jordan took the loss, with two runs charged to him over five and a 1/3rd innings on seven hits and a walk. Potomac managed just six hits, none consecutively, with Cutter Dykstra and Adrian Nieto collecting two singles apiece.
Hagerstown — OFF DAY
After scoring 33 runs versus the Power, the Suns looks to carry that offense over to the Muni as Hagerstown hosts Southern Division-leading Augusta for three games followed by a weekend series against Northern Division-leading Hickory.
