Rochester 6 Syracuse 5 — SUSP
• Tatusko 6IP, 4H, R, ER, 0BB, 4K, HR
• Mandel 1⅔ IP, 4H, 4R, 2ER, BB, K
• Rahl 2-4, R, HR, 2RBI
• Marrero 2-5, R, HR, 2RBI

Rain suspended play in the top of the 11th with the Rochester Red Wings leading 6-5. It’ll be completed today at 5 p.m. with the regularly scheduled game at 6 p.m. Prior to the rains, the Red Wings rallied for four to tie it in a mistake-laden 8th, which took away a possible “W” from Syracuse starter Ryan Tatusko, who threw six innings of one-run, four-hit ball with no walks and four K’s. Chris Marrero and Chris Rahl both homered and drove in two to lead the Chiefs offense, which will send up the Carloses Rivero and Maldonado and Rahl in the bottom of the 11th.

Reading 6 Harrisburg 5
• Holder (L, 0-1) 4IP, 5H, 4R, 2ER, BB, 4K, HBP
• Broadway 2IP, 3H, 1R, 0ER, 0BB, 3K
• Goodwin 2-4, BB, SB
• Bloxom 2-3, 2R, HR, RBI, BB

Sloppy defense and mental miscues put Harrisburg in an early 4-0 hole that they couldn’t dig themselves out of for a 6-5 loss and a series sweep by Reading. Spot starter Trevor Holder took the loss, giving up those first four runs (two earned) on five hits, a walk, and a hit batsman. Brian Goodwin singled twice and stole his fifth base of the season while Justin Bloxom homered and scored twice to pace the Senators offense. They may not have been lollygagging to first, but manager Matt LeCroy had some strong words for his team’s play, captured here by Mick Reinhard at Mayflies and Big Flies

Potomac 2 Carolina 0
• Schwartz (W, 1-0) 6IP, 3H, 0R, BB, 5K
• Herron (H, 2) 2IP, 2H, 0R, 0BB, 3K
• Self (SV, 1) 1IP, H, 0R, BB, 0K
• Keyes 1-4, R, HR, 2RBI
• Martinson 1-3, R, BB

Three Potomac pitchers combined on a six-hit shutout while Kevin Keyes went deep in a 2-0 triumph over Carolina. Blake Schwartz retired the leadoff man five times in six innings, allowing a pair of one-out doubles in the first two innings before running into some trouble in the 4th. A leadoff single and a walk put two runners on with no outs, but a DP and a K got him out of the jam as the Minnesota native retired eight straight to finish his night. Jason Martinson walked ahead of Keyes’s first big fly of 2013, while Randolph Oduber doubled to lead off the 5th as the Mudcats pitchers nearly matched their counterparts with just seven baserunners allowed. Roster moves: OF Randolph Oduber reassigned from Harrisburg, OF Will Piwinica-Worms assigned to XST.

Augusta vs. Hagerstown — PPD
It’s a doubleheader today thanks to a rainout yesterday, which the team let folks know the new-fashioned way: via Twitter and Instagram. Roster move: C Andruth Ramirez reassigned to XST.
