Both teams scored just once, but stellar Syracuse pitching made the two runs stand up for a 2-1 win over Durham, stopping a three-game slide. Danny Rosenbaum was a groundball machine, getting 18 of 21 outs on the ground, including two double plays over seven innings. He struck out just one and walked two in his second win. Mike Crotta pitched a 1-2-3 eighth while Erik Davis gave up an unearned run in the 9th but struck out the last two for the save, his second. Eury Perez and Chris Marrero both went 2-for-4, with Perez swiping a base and Marrero driving in a run.

Josh Johnson’s bases-loaded walk — the third straight issued with two out in the 13th — closed the five-inning donut shop on the Bowie scoreboard as Harrisburg ended its six-game losing streak with a 4-3 win. Johnson also doubled and homered and drove in three of the four Senator runs while Destin Hood went 3-for-5 to lead the Senator hit column. Starting pitched Nathan Karns got the no-decision with two runs allowed (one earned) on four hits and three walks over five and 2/3rds. Michael Broadway got the win with three scoreless innings while Aaron Barrett set ’em down 1-2-3 for save number three.

Four errors led to five unearned runs, including the last three on a walkoff home run, as Potomac fell to Myrtle Beach, 7-4. Starter Taylor Jordan lasted just four innings and he was charged with three runs (one earned) on six hits and a walk. The entire lineup came to bat in the 8th as the P-Nats rallied from 4-0 to tie it at 4-4, the equalizer coming on a would-be ’round the horn double play that Justin Miller beat out. An inning later, Miller’s error with two outs in the 9th gave the Pelicans an extra life, as Kellin Deglan took advantage to deliver the killshot off Richie Mirowski. Cutter Dykstra and Adrian Nieto both went- 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored, but the P-Nats offense struggled in the clutch with just a 3-for-13 mark with RISP and nine LOB.

Three crooked innings in the last four Hagerstown at-bats turned a 2-1 game into a blowout as the Suns boiled the Crawdads, 8-2. Kylin Turnbull served up a home run, but went six innings with just three hits total with no walks and seven K’s for the win in his return to Low-A. Tablesetters Tony Renda and Mike McQuillan combined for six hits and five runs scored as Hagerstown pounded out 11 hits total, with Shawn Pleffner and Wes Schill also having multihit performances at 2-for-4 with a double apiece.
