Rain halted play from upstate New York to the Florida panhandle, but perhaps the folks in Charleston might have wished it was there, too, as the Suns shorted the Power, 13-2. Starter Pedro Encarnacion got the win with two runs allowed on two hits and four walks over five innings while setting down four on strikeouts. Even on a full slate, Blake Schwartz would probably have the line of the night with four perfect innings and seven K’s for the save. Tony Renda was home run shy of the cycle with a pair of doubles and a triple, plus a walk to lead the Hagerstown offense, which took full advantage of West Virginia’s miscues (including two from former pitching phenom Stetson Allie at first base) to cash in 13 runs on 12 hits and nine walks.
