Looks like Rendon is back on the fast track. He and Goodwin are on target to make their MLB debuts some time next year. And the rich keep on getting richer.

      We’re the nouveau rich.

We don’t know when to stop flaunting our new-found wealth.

But after Goodwin and Rendon’s meteoric rise through the system, our farm reaaaalllly drops off after that. Meyer looks good, Karns too but is way too old for his level. After that, there’s a lot of question marks- Perez, Purke, Solis, Ray, Skole, Giolito, etc are all far from being top prospects.

So does Rendon’s promotion finally spell a promotion for Skole?

I’d guess this has AFL implications, by freeing up a spot for one of Meyer or Karns to be the single A exception?

You have to figure Skole’s long overdue promotion is at hand now.
Am definitely surprised at Rendon’s promotion, but it gives the F.O. 2 weeks to get him acclimated to better pitching.
This gives the Nats 2 potential big time stars knocking at the door next year. Pretty exciting!

So who gets let go to make room for Rendon?

      Pahooter, how’s the elbow?
      – Fine.
      *Whack!*
      – A little sore, sir.

In all seriousness, you’d have to think that perhaps Seth Bynum is released or put on the DL.

        Harrisburg is carrying 3 catchers.

Wow, they aren’t messing around with Rendon.

It’s hard not to imagine where this kid would be if he hadn’t gotten hurt in April.

I’m guessing if he hadn’t, Cesar Izturis wouldn’t be a National.

Also, I’ll be curious to see if he plays anywhere besides 3B and DH.

Do the GCL Nats have a gamecast for their games?

I wanted to see how Giolito was doing but couldn’t seem to find a link.

    1. Luke Erickson says:
      August 14, 2012 at 12:34 pm

Nope. And as of 12:34 p.m. it’s one of a handful of GCL games that hasn’t gone live yet.

        Well, that just sucks.

They finally got a game tracker up.

Giolito threw 2 innings, allowed 2 hits, 1 run, walked none and struck out one.

He retired the first 5 batters he faced on 4 ground-outs and a strikeout then allowed a double and a single and the second batter was thrown out at second trying to stretch for a double.
