Good for Perry! Glad to see he is doing well. I think the Hburg score was wrong though.
Got it. Perhaps there’s something subconscious when I put the opposing team first in the placeholder… or the coffee hadn’t kicked in. Maybe both.
Perry’s transformation has been fascinating to watch. He hasn’t overpowered batters, only striking out 37 in 63 innings, but whatever he’s doing is working- 1.86 ERA after 11 starts is fantastic.
I’m excited to see what he can do next year in Syracuse. And he’s still only 25 years old.
Unfortunately, Perry will be out of options next season. I imagine he and Maya could battle it out for the 5th starter job. Both guys will be out of options, so one or both could be DFA’d or traded.
Unfortunately I believe Perry is out of options after this year, he’ll have to make the big club out of spring training if he is going to stick in the org.
