Yunesky Maya flirted with perfection for 20 batters before giving up… wait for it… a home run as Syracuse edged Rochester, 2-1 and took the series, 3-1. Maya went eight innings total and walked none and struck out one to even his record at 8-8. Christian Garcia pitched a 1-2-3 ninth for his fifth save. Eury Perez singled, doubled, and stole a base to push his average to .433 and extend his hit streak to seven games.

Harrisburg put up a pair of runs in the 3rd and 8th innings and turned a 3-1 lead into a 7-4 win over Trenton in the completion of Thursday night’s contest. Trevor Holder got the win with three runs given up on four hits and a walk over six and a 1/3rd innings, setting down five on strikes. Brian Goodwin and Destin Hood both drove in two and collected three hits as the Senators collected 10 hits total.

The Thunder struck twice for two-run shots en route to a 5-1 win over the Senators in the nightcap. Kevin Pucetas gave up all five runs on six hits over three and a 1/3rd innings, walking none and striking out two. Harrisburg mustered just five hits total, but broke up the shutout with a Chris Rahl single and steal followed by a Destin Hood two-out RBI single.

Potomac was shut out for the 11th time this season, 3-0 by three Frederick Keys pitchers. The P-Nats managed just four hits — two doubles and two singles — and six baserunners total. Adam Olbrychowski took the loss despite the quality start of three runs on five hits and a walk over six innings, with Matt Swynenberg turning in two scoreless frames in relief.

Five Auburn pitchers combined on a 4-0 shutout to complete the sweep of Vermont. Ivan Pineyro got his first NYPL win with five scoreless innings, allowing four hits and no walks and setting down five on strikes. Estarlin Martinez extended his hit streak to 10 games with a single, double, and a triple and drove in three of the four Doubleday runs. Anthony Rendon had his five-game hit streak snapped with an 0-for-3 night, though he did draw a walk and score a run.

The G-Astros scored all eight runs in the first three innings and cruised to an 8-3 win over the G-Nats. Andy Santana retired just two of nine batters faced, giving up five runs on four hits and two walks and was charged with the loss. The G-Nats committed three errors, rendering six of the eight runs unearned. Matt Foat singled twice, walked, and drove in a run to lead the G-Nat offense.

Juan Benitez got the win with a serviceable five innings pitched, with four runs allowed on five hits and a walk. Miguel Atencio and Younaifred Aguero both went 3-for-5 to lead the 16-hit attack.
