A trio of four-run frames put this one away early as the Syracuse Chiefs gored the Durham Bulls, 14-3. Yunesky Maya turned in another quality start with two runs allowed over six innings on seven hits and two walks while striking out five. Three runs in the middle innings proved to be enough as Altoona doubled up Harrisburg, 4-2, ending the Sens’ modest three-game win streak. Ryan Perry took the loss, giving up two runs on two hits and three walks over three and 2/3rds while fanning five. Ryan Tatusko finished the 4th and gave up a run over the next three frames, setting down four on strikes. Harrisburg mustered just five hits total and went 1-for-10 with RISP in the loss.

Potomac scored seven unanswered runs but it was too little, too late as Salem’s 16 runs in the first three innings held up in a 16-14 slugfest. The two teams combined for 36 hits, but the difference was the five home runs by Salem, three of which came off rehabbing Cole Kimball in the first inning. Scheduled starter Matt Grace gave up 10 runs for the second straight outing. Matt Swynenberg made his case to return to the rotation with five and a 1/3rd innings of long relief, giving up just two runs. Jason Martinson led the P-Nats offense with a 3-for-5 night, falling a double shy of the cycle while driving in four.
