Byron Kerr had a good post about Jeff Mandel as well as Danny Rosenbaum. And I read Ryan Tatusko latest blog post about XST with interest.
Do you know why they are alternating Erik Arneson and Jeff Mandel between Syracuse and Harrisburg? Do they have plans for those two or are they just Org guys at this point?
Do you think they will give Rosenbaum a chance to compete for the fifth starters spot next spring?
They’re using Arnesen and Mandel as OGs so it’s tough to deduce plans beyond that. As we’ve seen from Kerr’s reports, it’s tough to get anything of substance from Nats officials; it’s not unlike what I used to hear from HS coaches where everyone was “a good athlete” or had “a live arm.”
As for next spring, I think it might be prudent to wait until the 2012 season finishes at a minimum before filling out the 2013 Opening Day roster.
