The Big Board is close to frozen for 2011, but a few transactions of note have taken place the past week or so…
SYRACUSE

• RHP Christian Garcia assigned from Auburn
• OF Chris Curran assigned from Hagerstown
• UT Sean Nicol assigned from Potomac
• LHP Tom Milone recalled to Washington
AUBURN
• UT Mills Rogers assigned from Hagerstown
• C Andruth Ramirez assigned from GCL
HARRISBURG
• IF Adam Fox activated from Temporary IL
For those wondering about “GBI,” I’m delaying it until Tuesday for the final edition, in which I’ll pick the bat & arm for each category for the 2011 season.
UPDATE: As expected, Tom Milone has been recalled along with a couple of procedural moves.
Promotions from Auburn and Hagerstown to Syracuse seem a very large jump. Do those reflect actual achievement, or a last-gasp thank-you to organizational guys whose playing days are about to end?

+1/2St: With the promotion of Marrero, Bernadina & Slaten to the big club, SYR was running out of warm bodies to put on the field. Curran was a 4th OF in HAG, and Garcia is 26yo. They’re more like a term insurance policy for Syracuse until the end of the season, imo.
So it is a little closer to the second possibility. These guys will never make the majors, but they will always be able to say that they reached AAA. I like that.
BTW- Slaten should not be back with the Nats. He was a disaster this year.
