The Suns scored in the first on a two-out Kevin Keyes RBI single and scored in the fifth on a two-out, two-run double by Russell Moldenhauer. Robbie Ray was unable to make it through the fifth inning after he hit Chris Lofton, allowed Lofton to steal second and third, and gave up a two out RBI single. Sam Brown failed to stop the bleeding, allowing an inherited runner to score on a wild pitch in the fifth and later walking a batter and allowing a single to start a three-run Augusta rally in the seventh. With the loss, Hagerstown falls into a first-place tie with Hickory at 12-7 in the Sally North.

The two teams combined for 30 hits and 28 runs with only two errors. Walks? Well, the D-Nats gave up 15 of those. Three position players were called on to pitch. One of them, Adderling Ruiz, was the most effective reliever of the game, and the only pitcher to not give up any runs — inherited or otherwise. The loss drops the D-Nats to 17-19, but they remain only 5½ games behind.
