Syracuse Chiefs — ALL-STAR BREAK
In the 3-0 IL win over the PCL, Tom Milone pitched a scoreless inning, allowing a hit and striking out one while Matt Antonelli went 0-for-2 with a strikeout but helped turn a double play.
Harrisburg Senators — ALL-STAR BREAK
In the 8-3 Western Division win over the Eastern Division in the Eastern League All-Star game, Erik Arnesen and Hassan Pena each pitched a scoreless inning with Arnesen striking out the side with no hits, runs, or walks allowed while Pena allowed one hit, no walks, and struck out two. For the baters, Tyler Moore went 0-for-5; Bill Rhinehart went 1-for-3, with double, walk, and a run scored while Archie Gilbert went 1-for-2.

A late-afternoon thunderstorm produced yet another rainout and shifted Chien-Ming Wang’s rehab outing to Harrisburg. It’s doubleheader today at 6 p.m.

Three straight crooked numbers on the scoreboard gave the Auburn Doubledays an 8-0 lead as they cruised to a 9-3 win over the Brooklyn Cyclones. Justin Miller led the 12-hit attack with a 3-for-4 night from the leadoff spot, followed by Roberto Perez’s 2-for-5 effort with three RBI. Chad Jenkins got the win in relief of Colin Bates, while Ben Grisz earned his third save. The win was the third straight for Auburn and puts them at 15-11, one game behind Jamestown.

Both hands on the keyboard when commenting about Nathan Karns, who threw another five no-hit innings in a 3-2 G-Nats loss. The 23-year-old Texan now has 26K in 18 and 2/3rds innings and two (2) hits allowed. The G-Cards had but one hit in the game, a double, scoring their three runs on two sac fies and a wild pitch. Estarlin Martinez drove in both G-Nat runs with a two-run home run in the top of the 8th. The loss drops the G-Nats to 8-12, 5½ games off the pace in the GCL East.

The D-Nats split an unlisted doubleheader with the DSL Yankees1, losing the first game 7-6 in eight innings and taking the second game 6-3 in seven innings. The split puts the D-Nats at 18-20 for the season, six games off the pace.
