See that “good” for Ross Detwiler makes it real perplexing why they shortened him up last night. He was pitching well!
I have learned it was a planned move, but have not found out the precise reason why. A couple of possibilities:
1) He pitches next week in an up&back for DC
2) The rotation is being realigned for the post-All-Star Break
Obviously, we’re rooting for #2 because of its implicit meaning that a certain Senator pitcher is being reassigned.
Peacock’s been ready for AAA for awhile. Post all-star break I hope he gets moved up. Why would they need Detwiler in DC? Oops, forgot about the doubleheader. Yeah, that’s a real possibility as well given his stronger performance as of late.
Man, I didn’t realize Eury Perez was that allergic to walks. Not a good sign that he can’t draw walks at this level given the hype. What’s the status with Destin Hood right now?
The saying is ‘you don’t walk off the Island”. Any patience has to be learned once they’re stateside.
Hood hasn’t played back-to-back games in the field since he was reactivated last week. He hasn’t looked gimpy, so it could just be play-and-see for awhile.
Might be why they are holding back Harper?
The Nats have double-header on Saturday, so maybe Detwiler will be getting a spot start since they do not have an off day until the ASB.
That bum Rhinehart let his OPS get below .900.
Great #’s on Rosenbaum. I can see the headline……. “A Jewish star from a Jesuit school”. Get me casting on line 2!
Good to see Karns name pop up. If just half of the upside pitching we drafter worked out, we’d be in great shape.
