It was a closely matched game between the Syracuse Chiefs and the Buffalo Bisons as the game was not decided until the 13th inning, when the Bisons were able to score a run off of Chico and win the game in walk-off fashion. Unfortunately, just four out of the 13 batters got a hit, including a pair from Marreno, Solano, Brown, and a single from Bixler. The Chiefs’ problem in today’s game was execution, going 1-for-10 with RISP and leaving 14 men on base. One strength of the game was pitching, as starter Ross Detwiler pitched 6 complete innings, allowing one run on four hits, while walking one and striking out eight. J.D. Martin also pitched four outstanding innings, allowing only one hit and one walk while striking out three.
Last night’s Harrisburg Senators game versus the Bowie Baysox was postponed due to rain. The game has been rescheduled for Sunday, May 29th at 5:00 p.m. as part of a doubleheader, and tonight’s fireworks show has also been shifted to that date.
Potomac Nationals vs. Lynchburg Hillcats — PPD
Ditto for Potomac, who will make up the game when Lynchburg returns next month, according to beat writer Robert Daski. Unlike Harrisburg, the fireworks show will still be held.

Hagerstown took their second straight with a 2-0 win as three pitchers combined for an eight-hit shutout. The Suns scored just single runs in the 7th and 8th innings, with Wade Moore singling in Jason Martinson and Blake Kelso driving home Bryce Harper, who was hitless in three at-bats but drew a walk. The Suns were outhit 8-4 but ran rampant with four stolen bases in five tries.
