Notes: Syracuse got the jump start in this one scoring one run in the bottom  of the 1st, another four in the 2nd and one more in the 3rd making it 6-0. Columbus came back with one run in the 4th, but the Chiefs countered that with one run of their own in the bottom of the inning. Columbus kept chipping away at Syracuse’s lead with another run in the 5th and with one more in the 8th, but that was as close as they’d get as they lost 7-3. Starter Erik Arnesen went seven innings giving up seven hits, two runs and two walks with the win.

Starter Tom Milone got win #9, pitching seven innings and allowing two runs on six hits while striking out seven. Steve Lombardozzi went 2-for-4 in his first start to earn Hitting Star honors along with Baez. Cole Kimball survived a rocky ninth, allowing a leadoff walk and double, but stranded those two runners on second and third for his fifth AA save.

Notes: An RBI single after a double, flyout, and a walk in the first inning gave the GCL Nationals a 1-0 lead after a half inning. It would be all downhill from there as the GCL Mets would shut them down and hand them a 4-1 defeat. Starter Mitchell Clegg took the loss despite scattering seven hits over five innings, allowing two runs (one earned) and striking out four.
