Notes: After trailing for most of the game, the Syracuse Chiefs got one run in the 8th and two in the 9th thanks to a Danny Espinosa HR to take a 3-2 lead into the ninth. The Indianapolis Indians doubled and tripled off reliever Adam Carr to lead off the inning and get the tie. After two intentional walks to load the bases (and set up a double play), Athualpa Severino relieved Carr and got a popup before serving up the game-winning single to Alex Presley for a 4-3 Indians win. Boomer Whiting stole his 31st base for Syracuse to join Espinosa in the Hitting Star honors while starter Andrew Kown went 5⅓ innings and gave up the first two Indianapolis runs on six hits and three walks. He also struck out four.

Notes: With a single run in the 1st and two runs in each the 2nd and 3rd innings, Harrisburg built an early 5-0 lead en route to a 7-1 win over Trenton. Starter Tanner Roark earned his first win for the Senators with six innings pitched, one unearned run allowed on three hits with no walks and six strikeouts. Six of the nine batters got multiple hits, led by Ofilio Castro’s 3-for-5 effort as Harrisburg struck the Thunder pitchers for 15 hits, including five doubles.

Notes: A six-run 6th, highlighted by a three-run double by Sean Rooney, broke a 1-1 tie to give Potomac a 7-1 lead and the bullpen weathered four runs in the late innings to emerge with a 7-5 win. Rehabbing Garrett Mock got the start and went the first four innings, allowing one run on four hits while striking out seven before giving way to veteran Jimmy Barthmaier, who got the win with one run allowed over three innings. Tyler Moore hit his 23rd home run and drove in his 88th run — both Carolina League-leading totals — to join Rooney in the Hitting Star honors. Since his hot streak began on July 14, Moore has hit .417 with 15 doubles, 13 home runs,

Notes: Four Greensboro pitchers combined to shut out the Hagerstown Suns on seven hits for a 4-0 victory. The Suns managed to get just four runners into scoring position while committing three errors on the night. Starter Graham Hicks took his fifth loss for Hagerstown, giving up three runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks over four innings. Sources report that reliever Rob Wort has been promoted to Potomac along with former Sun Sean Nicol; no word on their potential replacements.

Notes: The Lake Monsters held an 8-7 lead going into the bottom of the 8th but the Jammers spread five runs across the plate to win going away, 12-7. Starter Taylor Jordan struggled yet again, giving up five runs (four earned) on eight hits and a walk while striking out five, but got the no-decision. Wade Moore led the offense with a 2-for-5 night with a run scored, a double, and an RBI. Despite the loss, Vermont still leads the Stedler Divison by one game.

Notes: With Friday’s losses eliminating them, the G-Nats look to play out the string this week with two games apiece (one home, one away) against the Cardinals and Mets while visiting the Astros and hosting the Marlins.

Inocencio Heredia struck out two in a scoreless 9th to earn his ninth save, which gave Andy Santana (who pitched the 8th) his 4th win against no losses. Starter Silvio Medina went the first seven innings, giving up all five Cubs2 runs on eight hits and a walk.
