Notes: Indanapolis started the game with 3 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning. The Chiefs meanwhile tried to fight back with one run in the 4th and another run in the 6th making it 3-2. But Indianapolis pulled away in the 8th with 2 runs which gave them the win at 5-2. Starter Matt Chico went six innings giving up six hits, three runs and no walks while striking out a season-high 10 batters, but took the loss.

Notes: Trenton began the game in the bottom of the 3rd with one run, while the Sens came back in the 4th with a run of their own, tying things up at 1-1. In the bottom of the 5th Trenton broke the game open with a three-run home run off recently acquired Ryan Tatusko, who finished with four runs allowed on five hits over six innings while striking out eight. Hitters of the game Josh Johnson and Ofilio Castro combined for four of the Senators’ six hits as the team went an abysmal 1-for-12 with RISP.

Notes: This one was basically decided in the first inning, which is just as well because Sue had to leave in the bottom of the second. Here’s what she saw, in lieu of “LNIW”:
Derek Norris was moved to the #2 spot in the batting order, in the age-old ploy to feed him some fastballs. The move paid off instantly in the first inning with a two-run jack to left field as he drove in Dan Lyons, who had been hit by a pitch to lead off the game. After a Mike Burgess single, Tyler Moore put a coat on a hanger for another two-spot shot to give Potomac a 4-1 lead. Trevor Holder, who had given up a home run to lead off the game, settled down to pitch 6⅓ innings, giving up the one run on five hits, walking none, and striking out seven to earn his first win for Potomac this season. The win kept pace with second-place Wilmington; the two teams still separated by two games, three in the loss column.

Notes: Hagerstown began with the lead in the bottom of the 3rd with one run, but Greensboro quickly shattered that lead with seven runs of their own in the 4th. Greensboro wasn’t done there as they added one run in the 5th and another run in the 6th to make it 9-1. In the 8th they added one more, while the Suns added one in the bottom of the inning, but unfortunately it was far too late for a comeback as the Suns were downed 10-2. Starter Paul Demny went just 3⅓ innings, giving up six hits, four runs and one walk with the loss.

Notes: Three errors by Jamestown and eight runs by the Lake Monsters game Vermont the win. It was a close game, however, as Jamestown had the lead going into the 9th inning. That being the case, Vermont rallied to score two in the top of the ninth to get the lead while Ryan Demmin finished the game for the win, going the last three innings, allowing only 1 hit and 2 walks, while striking out 5.

Notes: The professional debut of Yuniesky Maya — three scoreless & hitless innngs with no walks and one strikeout — is about the only thing worth noting in the first game, as the GCL Nationals were shut out 4-0 by the GCL Marlins. Angel Montilla and Estarlin Martinez were responsible for the two (2) GCL Nats hits in this one.

Starting Pitcher Adalberto Mieses took a 13-hit beating over six innings, with eight runs (five earned) allowed with one walk and four strikeouts for his third loss of the season. Hitters of the game Edgar Gonzalez and Jean Valdez combined for four hits, two runs, and three RBI.
