Notes: Despite home runs from Carlos Maldonado (#3) and Seth Bynum (#10), the Syracuse Chiefs still fell to the Indianapolis Indians by a count of 8-5. Starting pitcher Shairon Martis was knocked out with one out in the 4th, allowing six runs on six hits and four walks and striking out just one. Down 6-2, Adam Carr made his AAA debut and struck out four of the nine batters he faced to keep the Chiefs within striking distance but the Indians pushed across two more while the Chiefs struggled to score without the long hit, going just 2-for-11 with RISP and stranding seven runners.

Notes: John Lannan’s struggles continues as the lefthander suffered his fourth AA pitching five complete innings, allowing four runs (two earned) on four hits. He also walked two and struck out four. Chuck James did all he could to keep the Sens in it, pitching three perfect innings while striking out five. Harrisburg finally struck back with three runs in the 8th, hitting back-to-back-to-back doubles before Marvin Lowance decided two bases wasn’t enough and tripled. With nobody out and Lowrance on third, Ronald Uviedo came on in relief and filibustered the Senators with a strikeout, lineout and another strikeout, then pitched a scoreless ninth for the save and a 4-3 victory for the Fisher Cats.

Notes: The Blue Rocks pounded Jimmy Barthmaier in his return to the Carolina League, battering the former Astros prospect for five runs on four hits as part of a seven-run rally in the 7th en route to an 8-2 win for Wilmington. Starter Trevor Holder pitched five scoreless innings, allowing four hits and one walk while striking out five. Hitters of the game Robby Jacobsen and Dan Lyons combined for five of the P-Nats’ seven hits. Mike Burgess returned to the lineup as a starter and went 1-for-3 with a walk.

Notes: J.P. Ramirez plated the game-winner with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 10th to give the Hagerstown Suns a 5-4 victory and a series split against the West Virginia Power. Destin Hood (3-for-5) and Rick Hague (2-for-5) paced the 11-hit attack, driving in three runs combined. Starter Paul Demny got the no-decision, allowing four runs on six hits (one home run) while Kyle Morrison and Rob Wort combined for four scoreless and hitless innings to make the comeback from a 4-1 deficit after 5½ innings possible.

Notes: Today was the second of just three scheduled off days in the New York-Penn League. Vermont plays host to Hudson Valley for three games before heading down I-89 & I-93 to visit Lowell for three games. Vermont remains in first place with a 23-14 mark, 2½ games up on second-place Connecticut.

Notes: Former National Luke Montz led off the top of the 4th with a solo shot to tie the game and start a three-run rally that put the GCL Mets ahead of the GCL Nationals for good. Starting pitcher Kelvin Lopez was touched for six of the seven runs allowed over his four innings of work, as the 20-year-old suffered his first GCL loss. Adrian Sanchez led the offense with two hits, two stolen bases and two RBI.

Notes: As of 7:57 a.m., MiLB.com is reporting that Silvio Medina pitched a complete game loss to the DSL Orioles2, allowing four unearned runs on 10 hits and one walk. The DSL Nationals were held to just seven singles, but drew six walks. Despite the baker’s dozen of baserunners, they scored just one run in the 4-1 loss.
