Notes: Tonight is the AAA all-star game, being held in Allentown. Chase Lambin is the lone representative as a reserve infielder.

Harrisburg Senators — OFF DAY
Notes: Newly renovated Metro Bank is the host of the 2010 Eastern League All-Star game. Seven Senators were named to the Western Division squad, including relievers Adam Carr and Rafael Martin, starter Tom Milone, infielders Chris Marrero, Michael Martinez, and Danny Espinosa, and catcher Jhonatan Solano.

Potomac Nationals — OFF DAY
Notes: Potomac returns home for a four-game set against the Kinston Indians. Jordan Zimmermann is expected to make his third rehab appearance with the team.

Hagerstown Suns — OFF DAY
Notes: The Suns return from their five-game swing into South Carolina by hosting the Rome Braves for five games this week in Hagerstown.

Notes: The Lake Monsters broke even on their six-game swing with a 3-1 victory over the State College Spikes. Colin Bates started and pitched four scoreless innings, while Shane McCatty earned with win with four innings of relief, though his skein of scoreless frames was snapped at 16 with the Spikes’ lone run of the game. David Freitas and Ronnie Labrie each collected a single and double to lead the Lake Monster offense.

Notes: The GCL Nationals scored nine unanswered runs after letting up two unearned runs to cruise to a 9-2 win on Tuesday. Third round pick Rick Hague made his debut, scoring a run on a walk but going 0-for-3 as the DH. Starting pitcher Kelvin Lopez went five innings and allowed just one hit and one walk, while Nick Serino and John Santiago combined for four scoreless innings of relief.

Notes: Wirkin Estevez rebounded from his last outing (7R in 5IP) with seven scoreless innings with just two hits and no walks allowed. The 18-year-old also struck out nine to improve his season total to 53, which is fourth-best in the DSL. Jose Arismendy and Adderling Ruiz were the batting leaders, collecting three of the team’s six hits.

    Looking for info on Wirkin Estevez. That Nats may have found another gem pitcher in Latin America. What’s his pitch repertoire? He throw heat or mostly on commanding his pitches? Any info would be helpful, as its tough to find tidbits on kids in the DSL

      Unfortunately, our reach is limited to the U.S. with a small satellite in Canada 😉 Even if he were in the GCL, it’d be tough because we have no presence in Florida and the local media is fixated on the high schools (truth be told: that’s the case in most minor-league towns). The name keeps popping up in our N&N so we’re just as anxious as you are to see him in person.
