Notes: Not much was going for Syracuse today as they were shut out and rained out. Durham started things with one in the bottom of the 1st, then two more in the 3rd. Then in the 8th Durham scored two more to make it 5-0. Mother Nature then took over which caused this game to end a bit early and give Durham the win at 5-0. Starter Erik Arnesen went six innings giving up seven hits, three runs and one walk for the loss, falling to 3-6 at AAA this year.

Notes: In an unusually strong offensive outburst, the Senators scored 10 runs on 17 hits en route to a 10-3 win over the Portland Sea Dogs. Marvin Lowrance singled and homered twice to lead the attack, as Harrisburg only failed to score in the 2nd and 9th innings. Starter Tom Milone tossed 5⅓ scoreless innings for his 7th win, allowing five hits and one walk while striking out six.
Potomac Nationals W, 13-3 @ Winston-Salem

Notes: A ten-run eighth inning turned a close game into a laugher as the Potomac Nationals cruised to a 13-3 victory over the Winston-Salem Dash. Eight of the PNats’ 17 hits went for extra bases, highlighted by Dan Lyons’s three-run shot in the (you guessed it) 8th. Tyler Moore’s 10-game hitting streak came to an end, though he did draw a season-high three walks. A.J. Morris bounced back from the beating he took from Salem last time out to throw six scoreless innings with just two hits and no walks allowed to collect his third win for Potomac this season.
Hagerstown Suns — PPD
Notes: The thunderstorms that swept across a swath of states from North Carolina to New Hampshire soaked Municipal Stadium. The Power and Suns will play a doubleheader today with two seven-inning contests beginning at 5:05 p.m. Jordan Zimmermann is slated to pitch the first game, while Evan Bronson is the most likely candidate to start the second game.

Notes: Vermont started out well, scoring four runs in the bottom of the first including a 2-run home run from David Freitas, which extended his hitting streak to 21 games. After adding another run in the 2nd, the Lake Monsters held early 5-0 lead. In the 3rd the Valley Cats clawed back with three runs but Vermont scored two more runs in the 4th to keep Tri City at bay. In the 5th Tri City kept coming as they scored two more, while the Lake Monsters were starting to lose steam as they could only score one in the bottom of the inning. Tri City then tied things up in the 7th with three runs, and then completed the comeback in the 8th as they scored the last two runs to take this one 10-8. Starter Colin Bates went four innings giving up eight hits, five runs with two strikeouts.

Notes: The GCL Nationals start this week at 12-16 and a relatively light week of five games: home against the Mets, Marlins and Cardinals; visits to the Cardinals and Astros.
DSL Nationals — OFF DAY
Notes: It’s a day of rest that will be badly needed with a slew of doubleheaders to come this week, thanks to last week’s three rainouts. The D-Nats are 23-20, which is good for fifth place and five games back in their division.
