Notes: The Chiefs couldn’t get much of anything going today as they were held to only five hits for the entire game. Norfolk scored one in the bottom of the 3rd and added another in the 6th. Norfolk added a few more to the scoreboard in the 8th to make it 4-0 which is how this one would end with Norfolk winning 4-0 over Syracuse. Starter Jeff Mandel went 7⅔ innings giving up six hits, 4 runs, two walks with five strikeouts and took the loss.

Notes: The Sens got down early in the 1st as New Britain scored two in the top of the inning. New Britain then added one more run in the 4th to make it 3-0. But the Sens got a spark from Danny Espinosa in the 5th as he homered over the right field wall to give the Sens their first run. Then in the 7th the Sens came out swinging, scoring five runs with the help of yet another homer by Espinosa making this a 6-3 game for the Sens. Starter Tom Milone went 6⅔ innings giving up six hits, three runs, one walk with four strikeouts. Chuck James got the win in relief while Zech Zinicola pitched a scoreless ninth for the save.

Notes: It was a travel day for all but Danny Rosenbaum, who was promoted to Potomac. The rest of the Suns head to North Carolina for a four-game set against the Asheville Tourists.

Notes: The Game versus Staten Island was postponed today due to wet grounds and will be made up in September as a doubleheader in Staten Island.

Notes: Three GCL Nationals pitchers combined for a one-hit shutout of the GCL Marlins. Almost as impressive: They issued no walks while striking out seven. Offensively, Adrian Sanchez led the 10-hit attack with a 2-for-5 afternoon, including a two-run single and a double. Starter Kelvin Lopez threw five no-hit innings to lower his ERA to 2.25.

Notes: The DSL Nationals touched the DSL Orioles2 squad for three runs in the top of the 2nd and played error-free defense to cruise to a 4-2 win. Starter Antonio Guzman went seven strong innings, allowing both Orioles2 runs on four hits and three walks. He also struck out five. Jorge Hernandez struck out the side in the 9th for his 4th save.
