Rochester got five runs in the 2nd and added an insurance run in the 6th, which proved to be the difference in a 6-5 win over Syracuse. Jackson Kent, who leads the Nats minors in wins with eight, won his seventh AAA start with three runs allowed on six hits (one HR) and two walks while striking out four. Zak “Without a C” Kent got the “H” (no word on Sara) as did Alex Young and Jack Sinclair while Justin Lawrence worked a scoreless 9th for the save. Christian Franklin, Trey Lipscomb, and Riley Adams each had two hits while Franklin and Cayden Wallace both drove in two to lead the Red Wings offense.

The Senators were outhit 10-5 and struck out 16 times. But they also drew nine walks and were hit by pitches twice in an 8-3 win over the Sea Dogs. Riley Maddox gave up all three Portland runs on five hits and three walks over four innings. Luke Young picked up the win as he got five crucial outs, including a double play ball after hitting the first batter he faced to lead the bullpen’s five scoreless innings. Ethan Petry hit a three-run double to highlight Harrisburg’s four-run fourth while Sam Peterson tripled, walked, scored a run and drove in a run to power the Sens offense.

The rains that swept through the DMV during the early evening postponed yesterday’s game. They’ll try to make it up with doubleheader today.

The injection of FCL guys to the FredNats roster continues to inoculate them for winning as Wilson handed Fredericksburg its seventh loss since the All-Star break, 6-1. Luke Johnson suffered his second loss on three runs allowed over three and 2/3rds on four hits and a walk. Dashyll Tejada, Sir Jamison Jones, and Christhian Vaquero each had single while Jones, Coy James, and Manuel Cabrera each drew a walk as the FredNats were only able to score with the help of an error.

The DSL Nationals lost their fourth straight and are back in the race to the cellar of the DSL. Franniel Reynoso faced 17 batters, walked seven of them, hit another, and got eight outs while giving up four runs on three hits to lose for the third time. Four no-hit innings by Manuel Ruiz went for naught as the D-Nats bats were held to six singles and one walk, with Samil Serrano the sole batter to reach base twice.
