Back-to-back solo HRs from Trey Lipscomb and Harry Ford erased an early 2-1 deficit to highlight Rochester’s three-run 5th. The RailRiders delivered two-out singles in both the 6th and 8th to tie it up but the Red Wings got the lead back on an Andrew Pinckney single, a steal of second, and Lipscomb doubling him in. That made a winner out of Eddie Yean, who got the last out in the 8th with two stranded. Orlando Ribalta derailed any hopes of another comeback with a 1-2-3 ninth. Christian “Hey It’s” Franklin singled twice while Abimelec Ortiz doubled and walked to highlight the non-Lipscomb offense. Riley Cornelio got the start but was lifted after 83 pitches with one out in the 5th. He gave up two runs on two hits (one HR) and three walks and struck out seven. Roster moves: 1B Matt Mervis released; RHP Tyler Schoff reassigned from Harrisburg.
Harrisburg Senators – OFFSEASON
Altoona is among a handful AA teams starting a day early so as to (presumably) not play on Easter Sunday. Meanwhile, for those who celebrate (and to those not aware), Happy Passover. For those who don’t, you have quite the selection of April 2 events.
