Transaction Update

Yesterday, the Nats optioned three southpaws to Rochester, all of whom are expected to start for the Red Wings:

Perhaps the most significant—and LONG OVERDUE—is Parker, who the league had figured out by mid-2024 and had been steadily declining ever since. Clearly, the Nats would rather have this trio pitching every fifth or sixth day in case (when) one of the 30-something starters get hurt or falters.

And there were two releases earlier this week:

A 4th Round pick in a year with only five (2020), Lindsly stuck around probably longer than he might have otherwise [insert obligatory note about relationship to Cade Cavalli here], given the Nats’ fetish for bat-first backstops.

Agostini showed promise in the DSL and his first season in the FCL before things went off the rails in 2023. He spent most of 2024 on the I.L. (he’s not on The List, so it’s unclear what the injury was) and short stint in the FCL last summer where his production remained the same as 2023.
