Both teams walked ten batters, but Rochester got two more hits with RISP, which was the difference in an 8-7 win over Jacksonville. Andrew Alvarez dug a 5-1 hole after four innings, allowing four hits (one HR) and five walks while fanning the same batter twice. A five-run 6th capped off by a… wait for it… bases-loaded walk took him off the hook.

After tacking on an insurance run in the 7th courtesy of an Andrew Pinckney RBI single, the Red Wings gave the lead back on a two-out, two-run single as Eddie Yean retired just one of five batters faced and Julian Fernández gave up the equalizer two batters later. Rochester got the game-winner on another bases-loaded walk by Yoyo Morales in the 9th.

Jackson Rutledge did all he could to return the favor in the bottom half of the inning with two walks and a wild pitch but rolled a double play to earn the save. Orlando Ribalta, who worked around a baserunner in the 8th (yep) picked up the win. Abimelec Ortiz reached base five times and scored three times while Pinckney went 2-for-5 with two RBI to lead the Red Wings offense.
Roster moves: RHP Tyler Baum placed on the 7-Day I.L.; CF Levi Jordan, C Tres Barrera place on the Development List.
