Nats Fold Cards, 6-1

Wahington sent 11 men to the plate in the bottom of the 8th and five of them came around to score in a 6-1 win over St. Louis. The Nats remain unbeaten with four wins and one tie.

Cade Cavalli walked one and struck out one as he turned in two scoreless innings in his first start of the spring. He threw 24 pitches, 13 for strikes.

Kyle Luckham pitched the final two innings to pick up the win. He gave up one hit, walked none, and struck out two and did not allow a run.

Harry Ford got the start behind the plate and batted 8th but was caught looking in the 3rd and grounded out in the 5th. He gunned down a runner trying to steal third in the 2nd.

Seaver King was the No. 9 batter and reached base on an error (3rd) and had an infield single in the 5th. He had two assists as the starting shortstop.

It’s another night game tonight as the Nats travel to Tampa to visit the Yankees. Andrew Alvarez is expected to start for Washington for the first time this spring.
